The OBU baseball team will have a slight change to their schedule this weekend with a postponement to Tuesday's game at Central Oklahoma due to expected foul weather.
The Bison also made some changes to this weekend and will travel to Oklahoma Christian University on Thursday for a 4 p.m. game and play host to OCU Friday in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
OBU got off to a powerful start to their season last Friday and Saturday with a three game home sweep over Manhattan Christian College. The Bison scored a combined 54 runs in the three game series and gave up four – all in the last game where they won 21-4.
Brett Bloomfield was 4-4 with five runs and three RBI and Zane Gelphman was 4-6 and drove in three runs – both had two-run blast in the contest. Caleb Stull had a solo shot in the Bison's 7-run fifth inning and Jake Gozo hit a three-run bomb in the second.
Zach Fowler earned the win on the mound with seven strikeouts in three innings pitched. He walked one and gave up one hit. Hudson Pearson and Chris Kovach pitched two innings apiece and fanned six.
Brock Carter drove in four runs and Matt Poulin added three as the Bison rallied ahead 21-0 in the second game before giving up their first run of the season in the top of the sixth. Carter and Bloomfield each tripled and the Bison hit five doubles as a crew.
Caleb Bly earned the pitching win with a perfect four innings and whiffed 11 batters. Andrew Eppenbach and Carter each pitched in relief and gave up two runs.
Albertus Barber, Thomas Schroder and Mychal Yarbor threw a combined perfect game Friday to start out the season with a 12-0 win over MCU with Barber taking home the win.
Bloomfield, Carter and Garrett McKee each drove in two runs in the victory.
