The Meeker girls came up just short in a 46-45 home loss to Okemah Thursday night to fall to 10-11 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs led 12-10 after the first quarter but lost some ground to trail 24-23 at the half. Okemah won out the third quarter with a 16-12 run and the Meeker girls outscored Okemah 10-6 in the fourth to come up just shy of the comeback.

Okemah's Nataiyah Wilson led all scorers with 18 points and Jacie Harelson finished with 17.

Lexi Lopez led Meeker with 13 points, Aubrey Pruitt had 10 and Emily Trevino contributed nine. Liz Jones finished with six and Darien Edmonds chipped in four.

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Luther Friday.

Boys

Okemah's Cade Dean powered his team to a 71-51 win over the Meeker boys Thursday night with a 31-point performance.

The Bulldogs led 29-23 at the half but were outscored 49-22 in the later quarters.

Cale Coleman led Meeker with 15 poitns and had three 3-pointers and Josh Whitfield and Justis Nelson had 11 apiece.

Dean led all scorers and had eight triples on the night. Seth Harjo had 15 for Okemah and CD Harjo finished with 12.

The Bulldogs (11-9) are on the road at Luther Friday.
