Lady Chieftains fall to Ada

ADA – The Seminole girls fell to Ada 51-31 on the road Saturday to drop to 3-16 on the season.

The Lady Chieftains were on Ada's tail after a 12-9 start, but a 10-2 Ada run in the second left Seminole trailing 22-11 at the half. A 17-9 fourth quarter powered Ada well ahead for the win.

Ada's Mikayla Emarthle led all scorers with 23 points and Landyn Owens had 17.

Seminole was led by Abby Carter with 17 points and five 3-pointers. Hayden Harjo had seven, Destiny Tiger contributed two and Khya Mitchell and Sienna Deatherage chipped in two apiece.

Seminole never made it to the free-throw-line and were hurt by having to play some of their younger players due to injury and illness.

“We are short handed...two out with the flu and another went down last night with a knee injury, so [freshmen] are stepping up and giving us good minutes,” assistant coach Pam Fletcher said.

Seminole will travel to Meeker Monday for their final regular season game and hosts Byng Friday for districts.
