MIDWEST CITY — Despite a yeoman offensive performance by senior Chase Morris in his final regular-season game, Carl Albert whipped Shawnee 79-60 Friday night.
Shawnee (10-13) was tied at 32 at halftime as Morris contributed 23 points. He had 16 points in the second quarter on three 3-point field goals, a 2-pointer and 5-of-5 free throws.
Morris knocked down five 3-point field goals on the night.
Ramey Harrison was Shawnee’s other double-figure scorer with 10. LJ McKissick netted 7 points, including a trey. Teammates Daryl Busby and Shaun Willis added a 3-pointer apiece.
Carl Albert took over the game by outscoring the visitors 26-8 in the third quarter.
Trey Hopkins, Carl Albert’s leading scorer with 28 points, notched 18 in the second half, including 10 in the final quarter. Hopkins recorded three of the Titans’ six 3-point field
Mason Harrell added 20 points to the Titan cause, hitting 8-of-10 charity tosses.
Also in double-scoring figures for the victors was Jason Taylor with 16, including 9 in the deciding third quarter.
Shawnee was 11 of 14 from the stripe for 78.5 percent. Carl Albert excelled at the free-throw line at 16 of 18 for 88.8 percent.
