TULSA — Class 4A eighth-ranked Tulsa Central smothered Bethel 22-7 in the third quarter en route to a 70-55 district conquest Friday night.

Central had four double-figure scorers, topped by Brandon Jefferson and Limitriere Beasley with 13 apiece. Trae Washington added 11 points and Samuel Wilson put in 10, including two of Central’s five 3-point field goals.

Ben Pfeiff recorded a team-high 16 points as Bethel evened its record at 12-12.

Jaylon Gordon added 14 points and Devin Acklin finished with 10 for the Wildcats.

Gordon knocked down two 3-point field goals while Acklin and Colin Meiler had one trey apiece.

“They hammered us in the third quarter,” Bethel coach Bryan Jennings said. “They pressed us and we didn’t handle it well, causing some problems. They have athletes all over the floor.”

Bethel was 12 of 16 from the charity stripe while Tulsa Central was 7 of 15.

Bethel advances into the losers bracket of a regional tournament at Bethel. The Wildcats will play at 3 p.m. Thursday against the loser of the Broken Bow-Madill game.

Bethel’s girls received a district bye. The Lady Wildcats will play at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against the Broken Bow-Madill winner.
