LAWTON – The Asher Indians traveled to Lawton Ike Friday night to open up the season with an 11-10 win over Lawton High and kick things off on a high note.
Trevor Martin struck out seven without giving up a hit or walk in three innings of relief work to earn the win. Kade Lawden and gave up eight runs on six hits with three walks before being replaced by Michael McDonald with one out in the top of the second.
Lawton earned all of their runs in the first four innings and led Asher 10-5 after the fourth. The Indians chipped away in the later innings to take the win.
Martin had two hits with a double and drove in four runs to lead the offensive attack. Jake Dobbs had three hits with an RBI and Chase Eckert had two hits with a double.
The Indians (1-0) face Lawton-Ike at noon Friday.
