MAUD — It took Maud just 3 ½ innings Tuesday to register a 16-2 whipping of Little Axe.

After Little Axe scored two runs in the top of the first inning, Maud responded with seven runs in the bottom of the frame.

Maud added nine runs in the third, then the game was stopped (12-run rule) when Little Axe failed to score in the fourth. Little Axe was also scoreless in the second and third innings..

In just three innings at the plate, Maud drew 10 walks to go along with seven hits.

Madison Whitman led Maud’s offense with a triple and single. Kaylee Sanders and Jocee Sparks added two singles apiece as Maud improved to 2-2.

Jordan Brewer earned the pitching victory.

The Lady Tigers will continue their season at 5:30 Thursday by playing host to Sasakwa in two varsity games.
