ASHER — The Indians of Asher piled up 19 hits in just two innings Thursday in blitzing Strother 25-3.

The game was stopped on the run rule after 2 ½ innings.

Asher netted 22 runs in the bottom of the first inning, then added three more runs in the second.

Sophomore pitcher Jace Beverage of Asher permitted eight hits, fanned two and didn’t issue a walk in three innings of work.

Dylan Williamson of Asher cracked a 2-run home run and also drove in a run with a single.

Teammates Michael McDonald, Trevor Martin and Grissom added three hits apiece. McDonald, off a double and two singles, drove in five runs. Martin collected three singles while driving in three runs. Grissom also drove in three runs with a double and two singles.

Asher (3-2) will be idle until Monday when it tackles Latta and Stonewall at Asher. The Latta-Asher game will kick off the action at 3 p.m. Thursday, Asher will travel to Wanette for games against Wanette and Earlsboro, then play at New Lima next Friday
