SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist swept Arkansas-Monticello Saturday, 3-2 and 8-0, to take the series, 3-1.

OBU trailed 2-0 heading to the bottom of the third but got on the scoreboard with a solo home run by Dani Manning.

The Lady Bison tied the game in the fourth inning when Shelby Savage doubled and then scored when Aspen Grimes' sacrifice bunt was misplayed.

OBU scored the winning run in the fifth when Katie Reyes singled, stole second and scored on a base hit by Taylor Zanca.

Amanda Peterson pitched four scoreless innings of one-hit relief to get the win while striking out three batters.

The Lady Bison had eight hits with Reyes, Zanca and Savage collecting two each.

Bailee Saye got her first complete-game win of the season in the second game, shutting out UAM on four hits.

OBU broke a scoreless tie in the fourth, starting with Shelby Savage's first college home run off the scoreboard. The Lady Bison filled the bases with consecutive singles by Saye, Aspen Grimes and Kristen Grabin. Reyes and Cheyenne Demaree added RBI singles before Zanca delivered a sacrifice fly for a 4-0 lead.

OBU tacked on the final four in the fifth to end the game. Savage reached on a bunt single, stole second and scored on a double by Saye. Demaree later drew a bases—loaded walk and Zanca plated the final two runs on an infield single with Reyes scoring from second on the play.

The Lady Bison posted 14 hits, including three each by Saye and Grimes and two apiece by Demaree, Zanca and Savage.

OBU returns to action next weekend, hosting No. 17 Harding in doubleheaders at 4 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
