CARL ALBERT – Jay Easley came into the game in the bottom of the seventh and struck out a better with two outs after loading the bases to give Shawnee a 9-8 win over Carl Albert on the road Friday and give the Wolves their third straight victory.
Tied at three in the top of the fourth, the Wolves rallied with five runs to take an 8-3 lead.
The Wolves tacked tacked on one more in the top of the seventh on an error that allowed Nick Bowlan on base with two outs and Morgan Lunceford came in to score the winning run. Carl Albert got two back but the Wolves held off the extra-inning risk.
Carson Payne gave up two runs on four hits and struck out four in relief before Easley came in. Brandon Eropkin got the start and threw for four innings to earn the win. He gave up six runs on five hits, walked four and struck out five.
Scout Cawvey went 1-4 with a walk and two stolen bases and Austin Wood, Jacob Hill and Creed Killgore each drove in a run. Kade Self drew two walks and the Wolves took advantage of five Carl Albert errors.
Shawnee (3-1) travels to Stillwater Monday and will host in the two-game series Tuesday at 6 p.m.
