TECUMSEH – McLoud came out on top of a back-and-forth affair with Tecumseh Friday for a 28-23 road win at Tecumseh.

The Lady Savages put up 11 runs in two innings to take a 12-3 lead after the third, but McLoud bounced back and the teams continued trading blows.

The Lady Redskins scored seven runs in the top of the fourth and fifth and the Lady Savages responded with five runs in the bottom half of each of the two innings to lead 22-16 after the fifth.

Callie Cardin homered with two outs in the top of the sixth for two runs and Lexie Boyer singled to drive in Karlie Norwood to make it a 22-20 game.

Tecumseh went scoreless in the bottom of the sixth and Norwood doubled to drive in three runs in the top of the seventh to retake the lead for the final time and the Lady Redskins rallied for an eight-run frame. Taylor Frizzell singled to drive in Channing Scallorn in the bottom of the inning, but the Lady Savages couldn't get anything more going.

Shyann Shipman homered twice and Jessie Wooten, Norwood and Cardin each hit one bomb.

Shipman and Cardin had five hits apiece – Cardin drove in five runs and Shipman brought in four and doubled twice. Norwood brought in nine runs on three hits, Makyna Higdon had four hits and Katelyn Hoover, Wooten, Gabby Sears and Rachell Stephens each had three hits. Higdon doubled three times, Hoover had two doubles and Cardin and Norwood each had a two-bagger.

Gabi Jordan went 3-4 for Tecumseh, homered and drove in six runs. Annie Boatman and Frizzell had four hits apiece and Frizzell brought in four runs and Ayzia Shirey, Haylee Cobbs and Summer Chapline had three hits apiece. Scallorn had six hits and drove in three runs and Kilee Jones had two hits. Chapline, Frizzell, Jones, Scallorn and Shirey each doubled.

McLoud moves up to 6-1 on the season with the win and will face Stroud today at 6 p.m. The Lady Savages drop to 1-1 on the season with the loss. They travel to Mustang today at 5:30.
