NOBLE — Junior Kossi Kodoe scored two goals Tuesday night as Shawnee upended Noble 3-1 to up its record to 4-0.
Noble launched the scoring with a penalty kick in the 35th minute of action.
Kossi, off an assist from Josh Floyd, tied the game at 1-1 in the 57th minute. Seth King then assisted Kodee on a goal in the 59th minute.
Tommy Leach, a junior, concluded the scoring in the 73rd minute.
Goalkeeper Tristaan Haddad racked up four saves for Shawnee.
“We played really well and moved the ball well,” Shawnee coach Jason Merrell said. “It just took awhile to finish. We kept the pressure on them.”
Shawnee will entertain Mount St. Mary Thursday night.
“They are pretty good,” Merrell said. “We expect a tough match.”
Shawnee coach Danny Kessner watched his squad go to 2-2 with a 1-0 victory over Noble.
After regulation play ended in a scoreless tie, Shawnee won the shootout phase 2-1.
Goalkeeper Braunya Lewis collected three regulation saves, then chalked up four more saves in the shootout.
“We played really well,” Kessner said. “We passed the ball real well and we were more aggressive on offense. Our defense played outstanding. Sidney Waddell and Dixie Anderson played really well on the back side.”
