PRAGUE — Meeker tallied a run in the top of the ninth inning Friday to nick Prague 5-4 at the Prague Tournament.

The game was tied at 4 after seven innings.

Meeker employed three pitchers with starter Kade Brewster going the first six innings. He surrendered three runs, four hits, fanned four and walked two. Johnny Jones, who pitched the next two innings, gave up one hit and one run. Caedon Wolf set the Red Devils down in order in the bottom of the ninth.

Dakota Gabbert led Meeker with a 2-run home run. Jacob Martin tripled and teammates Budgie Cameron and James Green doubled.

Alex Anderson tripled for Prague. Red Devils’ Branom Bailey and Mason Cooper doubled.

With the win, Meeker (8-2) earned a berth in tonight’s 6:00 championship game against an undetermined opponent.

In an earlier game Friday, Meeker blitzed Spiro 10-1 as Jacob Sellers fashioned a double and a single. Brewster was 3 for 4, all singles, while Jonathon Jones had a double and single.
