RED OAK – The wins keep coming for Dale, who won their fourth and fifth straight games of the season Saturday with two victories at Red Oak to stay unbeaten. The Pirates took down Jay 13-4 and toppled Red Oak, 13-9.

Leading Red Oak 2-0 in the top of the third, a grand slam to right from Drew Reed boosted the Pirates ahead 6-0. Red Oak kept things interesting with four runs in the bottom half that included a two-run homer but an RBI single from Gant Hathcock and three-run blast by Blake McQuain negated the attack.

Bryce Crawford homered in the fifth and Reed and Carson Hunt each had a solo shot in the sixth.

Reed was 3-3 with two homers and a double to drive in five runs, McQuain drew three walks and Crawford was 4-4 with a triple and a homer. Gant Hathcock was 3-4 with a double and Cooper Hunt also doubled.

McQuain blasted a three-run bomb in the bottom of the first against Jay and Cooper Hunt followed up with a two-run dinger to give the Pirates and early 5-0 lead.

A single by David Herring, two errors, a passed ball and a balk added five more in the third.

McQuain and Cooper Hunt were both 1-2 and Austin Custar and Jonathan Johnson each doubled. Reed drew walks in two of his three at-bats.

Dale will travel to the Tuttle tournament Thursday through Saturday.
