DUNCAN – Kayla McGruder helped secure an eighth-place finish for the Tecumseh girls in the Southern Oklahoma Invitational at Duncan Friday and the Savages boys took sixth out of 12 teams.

McGruder posted a time of 2:31.71 to win the girls 800 meter race, third in the 1600 (5:58.58) and took third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.07. Cierra Garcia finished fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:03.84, fourth in the 200 (27.25) and seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.48.

Clayton Rackley took fourth in the boys 800 with a time of 2:07.95, just behind Sam Petersen of Duncan in 2:07.92.

Jarad Maxwell took third in the boys high jump with a 5-10 height and Brayden James traveled 19-02 to take fourth in the boys long jump. Matt Higdon (145-07) took second in the discus and Alex Schovanec took third with a distance of 133-05.50. The two finished in the same two spots in the shot with a 46-08 for Higdon and 44-02 for Schovanec.

Bethany Twilight Invitational

The Seminole girls and boys each finished fifth at Bethany as the Bethel girls took seventh and girls finished eighth in the Bethany Twilight Invitational last Thursday.

Cienna Works took fourth in the girls 3200 with a time of 14:28.86 and Rebecca Choate (15:17.34) took sixth to give the Lady Chieftains an early boost.

Richard Bolt took second in the boys 3200 with a time of 10:45.87 and Tanner Grant took fourth in the boys 110 hurdle out of nine racers with a time of 18.30.

Jamie Stafford took sixth in the girls 800 with a 2:46.08 finish and Michael Tiger took second for the boys with a 2:10.93 time and second in the 400 with a time of 54.13 ahead of Keiran Marshal (55.83) in fourth. Cameron Gunville took sixth out of 33 racers in the boys 100 meter dash with a time of 11.60 and Allison Lauderdale won the girls 400 with a 1:02.34 time.

Parker Roberts took third in the discus (113-05) and Justin Hamilton (5-08) and Derek Wolf (5-02) took second and third in the boys high jump.

Hayden Harjo won the girls pole vault with a heigh of 9 feet.

Peyton Barney took fourth in the boys 100 meter dash for Bethel with a time of 11.50 and fifth in the 200 with a 23.57 finish.

Kennedy Gregory took second in the girls shot put with a distance of 30-04 and Abbey Thompson took third in the long jump with a distance of 15-09.50 while Rian Gamble came in fourth with a 15-05.50.
