ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Oklahoma Baptist moved up one spot to finish in a tie for second place Tuesday at the 2018 Holiday Inn Express MWSU Women’s Spring Invitational.

The Lady Bison shaved seven strokes off their round one performance at St. Joseph Country Club to finish at 324 in the second round. OBU tied with Nebraska-Kearney at 655 for second place. It is the highest finish for the Lady Bison this spring and matches a second place outing at the OBU Fall Invitational for the top tournament finish of the year.

Michelle Carr finished in a tie for fifth place to match the best performance by a Lady Bison this season. Carr shot an 81 for a 160 two-round total. Elly Baze tied for 19th at 164 after her second straight round of 82. Sydney Bowman was 21st after carding an 81 for a 165 total.

Shannen Stewart shot the low round of the day for OBU at 80 and tied for 22nd place at 166 and Shelby Phillips tied for 45th with a final round 83. Phillips wrapped up the tournament in 173 strokes.

William Woods held on to win the tournament at 633 after a 312 performance Tuesday. Katie Warren of William Woods shot a two-over 74 in the final round to claim the individual title at three-over 147.

OBU will take off next week and return to the course April 2 at the 2018 HSU Spring Invitational in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
