OKLAHOMA CITY — Jacob Martin went 3 for 4 in a losing cause Thursday as Meeker dropped a 7-3 decision to Healdton at Bricktown Ballpark.
Meeker starter Johnny Jones, who went the first five innings, was the hard-luck loser. Jones was credited with surrendering five runs but three were unearned. He allowed five hits, fanned six and walked two.
Healdton scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to snap a 1-1 deadlock. Martin took over on the mound in the sixth and gave up one hit but no runs. He whiffed two batters.
Cade Patterson, who pitched the final inning, gave up two runs (one earned) and two hits. He registered one strikeout and one walk.
Meeker chalked up eight hits, all singles. Jacob Sellers went 2 for 3 with a run batted in
Jones went 2 for 4 while scoring once.
Budgie Cameron recorded a run-scoring single for Meeker.
Both teams committed three errors.
Martin and Cameron had a stolen base apiece.
Meeker will be back in action Saturday with a noon encounter at Holdenville.
