NOBLE – Lily Perry made the only goal of a one-sided game against Noble Saturday to lift Shawnee to a 1-0 win for third place at the Rose Rock Invitational in Noble.
Perry scored a goal on an assist from Camille Columbus two minutes into the second half that wound up being the only one of the game.
The game was a good team win for the Lady Wolves, coach Danny Kessner said.
“It was an all around team win,” he said. “We finally relaxed and played.”
The Lady Wolves controlled the game up the field and took eight shots on goal. The defense held Noble shotless.
Shawnee will play their district opener at home Tuesday at 6 p.m. as they host Capitol Hill. They were originally supposed to host Owasso on March 27 to open district play, but weather forced a cancelation of that game.
