IRVING, Texas – (Day One Results) Davis Farnell is tied for ninth place and Oklahoma Baptist is tied for sixth place as a team after two rounds Monday at The Patriot Classic, hosted by Dallas Baptist.
The Bison shot 308 in round one and 294 in round two for a team score of 602 in chilly conditions at the par-72 Hackberry Creek Country Club. Temperatures were in the low to mid-40s for most of the day. Texas Wesleyan leads the team standings at 589 (299, 290).
Farnell shot 76 in the first round and closed with a 1-under 71, his fourth round under par of the year. His 147 total is four strokes back from leader Emilio Gonzales of St. Mary's at 1-under 143 (73, 70).
Dalton Rhoden is tied for 27th place at 152 (76, 76) and Mason Nutt sits tied for 32nd with a two-round total of 153 (78, 75). Dakota Clark tied for 41st at 155 (83, 72) along with Hudson Hoover (78, 77).
Play will wrap up with a final round of 18 holes Tuesday. A shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m.
