SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist rolled to an 8-1 victory over Arkansas Tech Monday.

The victory over the Golden Suns moves OBU to 8-4 overall and 2-0 in Great American Conference play.

With doubles starting things off, OBU jumped ahead to a 2-1 lead, with Kim Moosbacher and Kateryna Shkot winning at No. 1, 8-3, and Alex Bowers and Caroline Abbe winning at No. 3, 8-5. After being down all match, Tahlia Walsh and Madeleine Boepple made a run at the end, but came up just short, losing 8-6.

It was all OBU in singles, as the Lady Bison won all six contests. The match was decided early, as Boepple (6-1, 6-1), Moosbacher, (6-4, 6-0), and Shkot (6-2, 6-3), won each of their matches quickly. Both No. 3 Walsh and No. 4 Bowers came back to win their matches after each losing their first set.

Up next for Oklahoma Baptist is another GAC match when they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on Ouachita Baptist. Later that evening they will also take on Henderson State in what will be a double-header for the Lady Bison.
