BLANCHARD — After coasting to a 19-4 victory over Blanchard, Class 4A top-ranked Dale saw its 19-game victory streak snapped with a 15-3 setback to Harrah Tuesday.
“We played good the first game,” Dale coach Andy Powell said. “Against Harrah, it was the first game this year we had no home runs. When you get just seven hits in slow-pitch, you will get beat almost every time. We were absolutely terrible that game.”
Dale had no such problem opposite Blanchard, blasting 17 hits.
Delanie Manning unloaded her 22nd home run to go along with a single. Sara Lock and Skylar Thompson also had homer/single outings while Rylie Premo recorded a home run and two-bagger.
Emmie Idleman had a double and single.
Harrah, ranked seventh in Class 6A, chalked up 23 hits in defeating Dale in five innings.
Lock posted Dale’s only extra-base hit with a double.
Dale was charged with four errors.
It was Dale’s first loss since a 12-11 decision to Morris in the season opener.
“We completely laid an egg,” Powell said.
Dale, 19-2, will compete in the Tulsa Union Tournament, slated for Thursday and Friday. The Pirates’ Thursday opponents will be Moore at 12:40, Broken Arrow at 2 and Muskogee at 4:40.
Dale is the defending champion.
