NEWCASTLE — The Lady Savages of Tecumseh moved over the .500 mark (10-9) Tuesday with triumphs over Newcastle, 14-1, and Purcell, 16-7.

Tecumseh, by scoring 14 runs in the second inning, required just 2 ½ innings to waylay Newcastle via the run rule.

Tecumseh accumulated 12 hits with Taylor Walker stroking a home run and single good for three runs batted in. Tecumseh didn’t bat in the bottom of the third.

Also in the two-hit category for Tecumseh were Channing Scallorn, Jaylen Hazleton and Gabi Jordan.

Ayzia Shirey, Scallorn, Hazleton, Summer Chapline and Lacy Howell drove in two runs apiece.

Tecumseh outhit Purcell 19-12 as Shirey tripled and doubled twice. Howell and Scallorn homered while Annie Boatman, Hazleton and Walker doubled. Boatman and Walker recorded three hits.

Tecumseh trailed 6-0 after two innings but scored 10 runs in the third and six runs in the fourth. The game was called after five innings on the run rule.

Tecumseh will travel to Varnum Friday for a 4:30 contest.
