STROUD — McLoud went 3-2 Thursday at the 66 Conference Tournament but don’t blame head coach Chance Griffin for being somewhere else.
Griffin and his wife, Kylie, became parents of their second child, Cannon.
McLoud’s softballers celebrated the new Griffin addition with two victories over Holdenville, 19-15 and 28-15, and a 13-7 win over Chandler.
In the 19-15 decision, McLoud amassed 24 hits with Callie Cardin going 3-of-5 with a home run. Rylie Walker had two hits and drove in five runs.
In the other matchup with Holdenville, Cardin was 4-of-4 with two home runs. Gabby Sears recorded three hits, including a homer, and Katelyn Hoover chalked up a triple.
McLoud outhit Chandler 18-10 with Jessie Wooten and Cardin homering.Wooten, Hoover and Sears added a double apiece.
McLoud dropped decisions to Stroud (35-11) and Prague (33-10). Opposite Stroud, Hoover, Cardin and Sears chalked up home runs. Against Prague, Cardin enjoyed a homer, triple and double. Shyann Shipman hit a home run.
McLoud, 16-6, will be idle until Monday when it plays Bethel at 4:30 and Purcell at 7.
