TUSHKA — Dale netted five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, invoking the eight-run rule in a 10-2 triumph over Asher Thursday at the Roff Tournament.

Dale leadoff hitter David Herring went 3-for-4, all singles, and drove in two runs.

Dale’s Bryce Crawford and Carson Hunt tripled. Teammates Austin Custar and Drew Reed doubled. Herring and Crawford drove in two runs.

Jono Johnson added two singles as the victors rolled up 11 hits.

Reed tossed a seven-hitter on an 87-pitch outing. Reed walked one and fanned three.

Asher finished with seven singles with Chase Eckart, at 2-of-3, the only multiple-hit Indian.

Jake Dobbs took the pitching loss, giving up 10 runs, three of which were unearned.

In its first game of the day, Asher knocked off Coleman 8-0 as Trevor Martin earned the pitching win and also hit a home run.

Martin allowed only three hits and struck out 13 in seven innings.

Dobbs and Eckart recorded two doubles. Martin also doubled, as did Braden Sanders.

Dale, 12-5, will oppose Tushka, a first-round winner over Lookeba-Sickles, at 5 p.m. today at Roff.

The tournament concludes Saturday.
