SHAWNEE— The Dale Lady Pirates were able to get two games in before the rains came Friday afternoon at the Dale Slowpitch Festival at FireLake Ballfields. They whipped Beggs 15-4 then beat Binger-Oney 9-1.
The first game with Beggs ended after four innings of play. Dale pounded out 18 hits to get their 15 runs. Mikayla Rutland led the charge with three hits and drove in five Lady Pirate base runners. Jobey Savage and Skyler Thompson each added three hits and a double for Dale.
The Lady Pirates completed the first game with no errors.
In the second game, Binger-Oney led off the game with a run in the first, but that would be all they could get across the plate.
Dale tied the score at 1-1 in the first then exploded for six runs in the third inning. They added two more in the fourth to invoke the run-rule. The Lady Pirates gathered 14 hits for their nine runs.
Rylie Primo had two hits and a homer. London Calvillo had two hits and a double for Dale.
Delanie Manning and Rutland each had solo home runs.
Dale improves to 27-2 on the year and will host top-ranked Morris at 5 p.m. Monday. Morris handed Dale one of its two losses earlier in the season.
