CLAREMORE – The Shawnee girls tennis squad took fifth-place in the Claremore Inivtational at Westwood Tennis Center Saturday.
Karsyn Reed and Rose Templeton took the consolation title in No. 1 doubles after beating the team from Choctaw, 7-5, 6-4. They lost to Norman North 1-6, 6-2 (10-5).
Hayden Powell and Kayla Garza took fourth in No. 2 doubles and Olivia Stobbe took fourth in No. 2 singles.
Powell and Garza won their first match 6-3, 2-6 (10-6) and lost their next two matches. Stobbe beat Brooklyn Sanders of Stillwater 6-3, 7-6 and lost her next two matches.
Lyla Boutdara-Stout finished seventh in No. 1 singles after losing to Claremore's Natalie Evans 6-1, 6-1 and Libby Roark of Stillwater 6-7, 2-6.
The girls travel to the Oklahoma City Tennis Center Monday for the Guthrie Tournament.
