CARL ALBERT – The Shawnee Wolves nearly pulled off a comeback in a late game against Lawton Macarthur at Carl Albert Friday in the Bill Tipton Classic, but fell short in the 6-5 loss. The game was originally to be played at Shawnee High School at 5 p.m. but due to field conditions was moved to Carl Albert for an 8 p.m. start.
The Wolves trailed 6-1 in the fourth but came back to score four runs in the top of the fifth and get within one. Shawnee loaded up the bases in the top of the seventh but was unable to convert it into any runs.
Jay Easley was 1-3 to drive in two runs and Kade Self went 2-3 with a double. Scout Cawvey was 2-2 and Austin Wood was 1-2.
Shawnee (11-8) will host Bixby Monday at 6 p.m.
