The Shawnee boys finished the first day of the Class 6A state track tournament in Yukon tied for fifth with Moore with 15 points each.

Darrius Blackshire finished the 300 hurdle preliminaries in second-place with a finals qualifying time of 40.03. He also qualified for the final in the 110 hurdle with a time of 15.05 for eighth-place.

The boys' 4x800 relay team took second in their even with a time of 8:14.26.

On the girls' end, Madison Converse took fourth in the 100 hurdle prelims with a time of 14.95 to qualify for the final race. She finished the 300 hurdle with a time of 48.05 to qualify for the final.

Shyra Crowley finished in eighth with a height of 16-08.25 in the girls long jump.

Tecumseh

Matt Higdon took fourth in the boys shot with a distance of 49-01 and Jarad Maxwell went up six feet in the high jump to take fifth. Clayton Rackley took fourth in the qualifying round of the 400 dash prelims with a time of 51.28.

The Lady Savages qualified two in the 400 dash with a third-place finish of 1:01.36 by Cierra Garcia and Kayla McGruder took sixth with a time of 1:03.15.
