Oklahoma Baptist University pitchers Ryan Plum and Richie Mirowski will pitch in the California Collegiate League All-Star Game at 5 p.m. (Central), Wednesday, July 14.
The game will be carried live by Fox Sports West.
Plum and Mirowski are the only NAIA players selected for the game.
A junior from Ventura, Calif., Plum plays for the Santa Maria Packers. He is 3-0 with a 2.33 earned run average. He was 5-1 for the Bison last season. Plum is scheduled to pitch the top of the second inning of the All-Star game.
Mirowski, a junior from Redwood City, Calif., plays for the San Luis Obispo Rattlers and has a 0.93 earned run average. He was 3-1 with a 2.51 earned run average this spring for the Bison. Mirowski is scheduled to pitch the top of the third inning of the All-Star game.
The California Collegiate League is a non-profit organization incorporated by seven non-profit amateur baseball organizations in the greater Southern California and Las Vegas areas dedicated to the development of student athletes from across the country. The CCL organizes a 36-game championship season (teams play a total of approximately 50 league and non-league games) from June 1-Aug 15 annually and requires its players to use wood bats and professional-level baseballs to further their development as prospects.
There are approximately 230 collegiate athletes participating in the league this year, Forty-eight percent of the athletes are D-I players, representing 19 D-I conferences and 53 D-I schools, Forty-eight percent are D-II-III, NAIA and junior college athletes and four percent are undecided.
