Terrence Buchanan, a middle infielder from Palomar Junior College, is transferring to Oklahoma Baptist University to play baseball.
Buchanan, a native of San Diego, played at Mt. Carmel High School, where he was named to the Tommy Lasorda Elite Team and was a two-time all-league selection. He was MVP in 2008 and Offensive Player of the Year in 2007. He batted .395 with 25 stolen bases under coach Mike Giaime.
Buchanan was selected in the 48th round by the Kansas City Royals in the June 2008 draft following his senior season at Mt. Carmel.
After a year at Fresno State, Buchanan was all-league at Palomar last season, hitting .450 with 35 stolen bases. He led head coach Buck Taylor’s Comets to the super regional.
