Coming off a 31-10 season, the Oklahoma Baptist University volleyball team received points but did not make the 2010 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ preseason top 25 poll released Tuesday.
OBU gained 24 points to finish 33rd in the national ranking.
The Lady Bison will get plenty of opportunities to prove themselves. They have matches scheduled with No. 5 Northwestern Iowa, No. 8 Texas-Brownsville, No. 18 Morningside, No. 20 Doane, No. 21 Madonna and No. 22 Lubbock Christian.
OBU also contests vote-getters Dordt, Emry-Riddle, Ozarks, Oklahoma City and Black Hills State.
The Lady Bison scrimmage Arkansas Fort Smith and Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively. The regular season opens in Orange City, Iowa, Aug. 27, when OBU plays Taylor and Black Hills State on Friday and Morningside and Sioux Falls on Saturday.
