Cowboy fans looking for game-day parking will have two options this football season.
The Oklahoma State University Athletic Department and the Stillwater Business Improvement District (Downtown Stillwater) will offer free parking and bus rides to and from Boone Pickens Stadium, beginning with the Sept. 4 home opener against Washington State. There will be signs indicating where to park and where buses will pick up and drop off passengers.
This option is on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are 500 parking spots available. The spots are available at:
• 7th Ave. and Lewis Street, across from the Municipal Building
• The 7th Ave. and Lewis Street Parking Garage
• 8th Ave. and Husband Street
• 9th Ave. and Husband Street (BancFirst)
• 9th Ave. and Lewis Street
Following the games, buses will pick up passengers on Hall of Fame Avenue every 30 minutes to return them to Downtown Stillwater.
The second option for parking this season is to purchase season-long reserved parking spots at Strickland Park through the City of Stillwater Parks and Recreation Department. The cost is $125 per spot, and fans will be able to choose a parking spot that will be theirs during each home game of the 2010 football season.
There are 100 spots available in Strickland Park, and the park will be open four hours prior to kickoff.
One-time passes for Strickland Park may be purchased for $20 at the park on game day.
The park is located at the corner of Hall of Fame Avenue and Main Street.
Strickland Park season parking passes may be purchased at 315 E. 9th Ave., or by calling 405-747-8070.
