Chandler turned the ball over three times inside the Perkins-Tryon 30-yard line Thursday, and each mishap resulted in a score for the hosts in a 28-7 District 3A-4 setback for the Lions.
“We kind of reverted back to our old ways,” Chandler head coach Neal Bacon said, referring to the turnover woes the Lions faced earlier in the season.
The Lions limited their turnovers to just two — a fumble and an interception — in last week’s 32-27 upset of Bristow.
“Other than the turnovers, we played them pretty even,” Bacon said of Thursday’s contest at Perkins.
The Demons led 15-0 at halftime, and 28-0 going into the fourth quarter. Chandler’s lone score of the night was a 45-yard pass from Chance Rich to Matt James. R.J. Farley added the point-after kick.
Chandler’s Austin Waters, Blake Barrier and Jorge Mares combined for close to 100 rushing yards on the night.
The loss drops the Lions to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the district. Chandler will host Bethel Oct. 29.
