The Harrah Lady Panthers’ first-half pressure defense and constant double-teaming of Shawnee’s Kelsee Grovey proved too much for the Lady Wolves as they completed the homecoming road sweep 51-35 Monday night at the Shawnee High School Performing Arts and Athletic Center.
Shawnee had little answers for the Class 4A second-ranked Lady Panthers. Harrah’s Chelsea Robinson scored a game-high 25 points.
Mya Tramble led the Lady Wolves with 15, while Grovey managed 12 points against the constant pressure from Harrah.
Harrah jumped on the Lady Wolves’ early and often, taking a 13-3 lead after the first quarter and stretching it to 26-9 at the half. The Lady Wolves played even with Harrah in the second half, but it was too little, too late.
With the loss, Shawnee drops to 14-5 on the season while the Lady Panthers improved to 19-1.
Shawnee, ranked ninth in Class 6A, will try to get back on the winning track Thursday when they travel to face the Lady Chicks of Chickasha.
