The Maud Tigers swept through the District C-4 honors this year, and three of the players will take part in next summer’s 8-Man All-State game in Miami.
Seniors Jordy Garren, Dylan Thomas and Robert Fellows join six other athletes who will don their gear to represent the district, and they will be under familiar direction as Maud head coach Bruce Harrell will serve as the All-Star coach. Other District C-4 All-Stars selected were Andrew Bell of Claremore Christian; Stoney Rodriguez and Jake Stonebarger of Midway; and Phillip Aguilera and Taul Levisay of Sasakwa.
Maud’s John Campbell was selected as an alternate for the All-State game.
Garren, who led the state in tackles this season with 187, was selected as the District C-4 most valuable player. Thomas was selected as the defensive player of the year, and Cody Williams was selected as the defensive lineman of the year.
Maud’s Shane Bailey was chosen defensive back of the year, and Harrell was named coach of the year.
The Tigers’ John Campbell was named First Team All-District lineman, and teammate Daniel Woolever was selected as First Team All-District end.
Maud’s Dylan Stafford was named First Team All-District defensive lineman, and Richard Southern was named First Team All-District utility.
On the Second Team, the Tigers’ Chaz Moody was chosen All-District running back, and Trey Hale was chosen as the All-District end. Seth Thomas was selected as the Second Team All-District defensive lineman, while teammate Talon Edwards was selected All-District linebacker.
The Tigers finished the regular season at 10-0 before falling to Covington-Douglas last Friday night in the first round of the postseason.
