GUTHRIE — Senior Jordan Parsons registered a hat trick Thursday evening as Shawnee ran over the host Guthrie Lady Bluejays, 4-1.
Parsons scored her first goal unassisted at the 15-minute mark in the first half, then received help from Jennifer Jett to put the Lady Wolves up 2-0 at halftime.
Sierra Ward scored Shawnee’s third goal, assisted by Parsons, and Parson finished her hat trick with an unassisted shot late.
The Lady Bluejays scored their only goal on a free kick with 15 minutes left to play.
“The girls played really well tonight,” Shawnee coach Justin McCain said after the contest, which moved to Lady Wolves to 4-0 on the season.
Shawnee was without two starters Thursday, and freshman Micaela Yu filled in as goal keeper.
“She did really well there,” McCain said. “That was a big deal for her.”
Yu registered six saves in the net.
“The girls are really starting to get some confidence in themselves, and it’s starting to show in the way they play,” McCain said.
The Lady Wolves are idle until a March 23 game against Mannford at Oklahoma Baptist University. The junior varsity team will play at 3 p.m., and the varsity girls will play at 4:30 p.m.
