Shawnee High School’s basketball squads will open play today in the East Central Oklahoma Classic in Ada.
The three-day Classic is being played at two venues — East Central University’s Kerr Center and Ada High School’s Activity Center.
Both Shawnee squads will be in action today at the Kerr Center. The SHS girls (4-3) will engage Ponca City at 12:20 p.m. Shawnee’s girls haven’t played since a Dec. 19 win at Suburban Conference foe Western Heights.
Shawnee’s boys (8-2) will take on Idabel today at 1:40. Coach Ron Arthur’s Shawnee squad is coming off a 74-64 triumph (Tuesday, Dec. 30) over Galloway (Ohio) Westland in the Benjamin Franklin bracket of the 2008 KsA Events Holiday Basketball Tournament at the Disney Wide World Sports Complex.
