Asher split a road doubleheader Friday night as the Lady Indians suffered a 44-41 loss to Roff before the Indians stuck the Tigers with a 44-35 setback.
Zach Fowler poured in 24 points to lead Asher’s boys in upping their record to 11-13. The Tigers held a one-point lead to start the second quarter, but trailed 25-20 at the intermission.
Asher preserved its lead with a 19-15 run over the last two quarters.
In the girls’ contest, a second-quarter lull proved lethal for the Lady Indians. Asher was tied with the hosts at 6 at the end of the first quarter, but fell into a 25-19 hole by halftime.
Asher got within three (31-28) to end the third quarter, but the deficit stuck as both teams scored 13 points in the fourth.
Tristan Milburn led Asher (13-11) with nine points, and Alissa Oliphant supplied eight. JJ Stewart of Roff led all scorers at 13.
