Shawnee’s basketball squads will be home today against Piedmont as part of homecoming ceremonies at the Shawnee High School Performing Arts and Athletic Center.
The homecoming coronation is scheduled for 6 p.m. Following the coronation, the boys’ game will begin at 6:30 p.m. The girls’ contest is scheduled for approximately 8 p.m.
Shawnee’s girls, ranked No. 1 in Class 5A, possess an 18-0 record and are coming off a 61-39 victory Tuesday at Western Heights.
Shawnee’s boys upped their record to 8-10 by defeating Western Heights 63-61 on a jumper by Dejoun Sanders with :04 remaining.
Other Tri-County squads who will be in action tonight are Asher at Roff, Prague at McLoud, Dale at Bethel, Stroud at Meeker, Tecumseh at Byng, Seminole at Okemah, Mason at Earlsboro, Bowlegs at Macomb, Chandler at Perkins-Tryon and Seminole at Okemah.
Prague’s girls are ranked second in Class 3A and own a 17-1 record. The Lady Red Devils have captured nine straight victories. Prague’s boys are ranked 17th.
Dale’s boys are ranked fifth in 2A while Dale’s girls are 11th.
McLoud’s girls are ranked 18th in 4A and Earlsboro’s boys are 15th in Class A.
