Savages rally past Tigers

Down 35-21, Tecumseh rallied for 14 points in the fourth quarter, then completed the comeback by registering a 42-35 overtime triumph over Cleveland to end the regular season.
Tecumseh, in finishing the regular season at 8-2, advances to a first-round road playoff game next Friday night at McGuinness.
In the fourth quarter, Chris Nunnally caught a scoring pass from Kyle Fowler to pull the Savages within 35-28. Tecumseh then tied the game with 1:07 to play on a 3-yard run by Fowler.
Tecumseh got first crack in the overtime and Fowler scored on a fourth-down play from the 3-yard line. Freshman kicker Clem Hall then converted his sixth straight extra-point kick to give Tecumseh a 42-35 advantage.
Cleveland, on its overtime possession from the Savage 10-yard line, got just four yards on the first three plays. On fourth down, Cleveland threw an incomplete pass, ending the game.
Tecumseh finished in third place in District 4A-2 with a 5-2 record.
Nunnally also had a scoring reception in the first half.
“We played like it was a long road trip,” Tecumseh head coach Greg George said. “But we played well enough there at the end to win the game.
