The Liberty Academy basketball teams launched their 2009-2010 seasons with home victories Friday night.
Liberty’s girls defeated Grace Covemant 51-16 while Liberty’s boys were 66-60 conquerors of Harvest Life.
In the girls game, Charity Fowler tallied a game-high 23 points while Blair Johnson added 11. Johnson was also the leading rebounder with eight.
On the boys side, Monty Roberts was Liberty’s offensive ringleader with 19 points. Also in double figures for Liberty were Ellison Evans with 12, Carson Lauderdale with 10 and Dominique Chapman with nine. Chapman also posted a team-high 10 rebounds.
Liberty’s girls will entertain Dustin today at noon. Both Liberty squads will be home Tuesday night versus Asher. The girls game will begin at 6.
