Sophomore Danae McGee of Stroud claimed second place in the Class 3A state cross country meet held Saturday at the Gordon Cooper course.
McGee, last year’s state champion as a freshman, completed the two-mile course in 12:12.82. The 3A girls champion was Regan Ward of Beggs in a time of 12:05.98.
Plainview captured the girls team championship while Stroud was 10th.
Chandler’s girls came in 15th and were also awarded the Class 3A academic championship.
In the boys competition, Chandler came in eighth in the final standings. Jones earned the team title.
Chandler’s best individual performance came from Chris Lowery, who came in eighth with a time of 17:42.86.
Anadarko-Riverside’s Lucien Corriveau won the individual state champonship.
Prague’s Austin Smith came in 12th with a time of 18:01.35 while teammate Michael Marsh was 76th in a time of 20.29.72.
Also from Prague, Samantha Salotti came in 73rd with a time of 15:13.57.
