Three members of Shawnee’s Crain’s Muscle World team chalked up first-place finishes in the recent 2010 USPF Sooner State Winter Games Powerlifting competition at Crain’s Muscle World.
Jessica Severson, competing in her first powerlifting meet, placed first in both the women’s bench press open division (165-pound class) with a 105-pound effort, and the women’s deadlift open division with a 255-pound effort.
For her work, Severson was named the outstanding women’s lifter in both the bench press and deadlift.
Tyler Hathcock captured the outstanding open bench press award. Hathcock, competing in the 181-pound open division of the bench press, topped all entrants with a 385-pound achievement.
Randy Henshaw of Crain’s Muscle World, entering his first meet in five years, not only finished first in the 308-pound Masters Division (35-and-older) but established a state record with a 370-pound effort. Henshaw, who weighed in at only 279, barely missed at the 390-pound level.
Crain’s Muscle World also came in second in the final team standings.
