Three Pirates homer in victory

LATTA —

LATTA — Three Dale players hit home runs Friday as the Pirates cruised to a 14-6 win over Vanoss in the Latta Tournament.
Tyler Holton grabbed the spotlight with a fifth-inning homer on his birthday. It capped a 3-for-3 evening for Holton that included a double.
Trace Dilliner started the home run derby with his eighth of the year, a two-run shot in the first inning. He also finished 3-for-3.
Michael Harris recorded his first home run in the fifth inning with a three-run blast.
Dale had a 14-0 lead in the middle of the fifth inning before allowing Vanoss to score its six runs.
Pitcher Michael Harris (3-1) got the win, allowing nine hits and two walks while striking out 10.
Dale (11-2) will take on Rock Creek in the tournament final today at 5 p.m.
