STROUD — A torrid 3-point shooting exhibition by Shane Pennock propelled Stroud to a 51-38 triumph over Meeker Friday night.
Pennock knocked down seven shots from past the 3-point line, accounting for all 21 of his points. He had three treys in the first quarter, two in the third quarter and two in the fourth quarter.
Stroud led just 37-33 entering the final eight minutes but outscored the visitors 14-5 down the stretch.
Hayden Johnson added 10 points for Stroud (7-5) and teammate D.J. Gaines supplied nine.
Levi Butler was Meeker’s only double-figure scorer with 10. Meeker is 6-11.
In the opener, Stroud kept Meeker’s girls winless on the season with a 66-40 decision.
Stroud, which led 32-9 at halftime, got double-figure scoring from Megan Jones (14), Delaney Jones (13) and Samantha Smith (11).
Meeker received 14 points from Taylor Woodall and 11 from Rachael Standlee.
Stroud will host Perkins Tuesday. Meeker will play at Okemah.
