LAWTON - The Liberty Academy girls, behind a 21-5 first quarter and a double-double from Charity Fowler, rolled to a 65-46 basketball victory over Lawton Christian Friday night.
Fowler fired in 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while Blair Johnson tossed in 18 points for the Lady Eagles, who improved to 5-2 on the season.
Liberty led 37-18 at halftime before holding Lawton Christian to just six points in the third in taking a 47-24 advantage, heading into the fourth quarter.
Kandy Hui chipped in six poiunts while Tessa Ring and Jamie Schoenecke tacked on five apiece for the Lady Eagles.
Hannah Madison topped Lawton Christian with 14 points while three others added 10 apiece.
In the boys game, Lawton Christian outscored the visitors 20-11 in the second quarter in building a 37-26 halftime cushion.
Monty Roberts posted a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort for the Eagles. Teammates Elison Evans and Tanner Fowler followed with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Kelton Hamilton paced Lawton Christian with 22 points and Gio Baez followed with 18.
The next action for the Liberty Academy squads will be Tuesday at home against Family of Faith.
