Liberty girls improve to 23-4

Liberty Academy’s girls never trailed Saturday afternoon in knocking off Wright Christian, 45-31.
Charity Fowler led Liberty with 32 points, 21 rebounds and eight steals. Kandy Hui of Liberty chipped in with seven points. Fowler also had Liberty’s only 3-point field goal.
Liberty (23-4) led 13-7 after one quarter, 27-15 at the break and 37-21 after three quarters.
In the boys’ nightcap, Liberty held a 41-37 lead entering the final eight minutes but was outscored 26-8 down the stretch and fell, 63-49.
Liberty (15-12) received 11 points from Tristan Bauman, 10 from Dominique Chapman and nine from Monty Roberts.
Pete Carper led Wright Christian with 15.
Both Liberty squads will play Tuesday in the Oklahoma Christian Schools Small West regional at Destiny Christian. The girls will play at 7 p.m. with the boys to follow.
