MEEKER - Brandon McCoy led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points as the Meeker Bulldogs opened the 2009-10 basketball season with a 59-49 win over the Wellston Tigers Friday night.
Zack Wood and Nathan Bellymule joined McCoy in double figures with 12 apiece as Meeker outscored Wellston in very quarter but the fourth.
Tyler Jones chipped in eight points for the winners and Derek Shouse ended up with seven.
The Bulldogs’ next action will be on Dec. 1 at home against Little Axe.
