MUSKOGEE — Spurred by a 30-point performance by Carletta Hernandez, St. Gregory’s women outlasted host Bacone College 93-90 Saturday.
Hernandez hit 13-of-17 shots from the field.
Also scoring in double figures for the Lady Cavaliers were Leticia Silva with 17 points and Heather Anderson with 14. Brittany Davis added nine points.The difference was the field-goal percentage. St. Gregory’s was 57.8 percent from the field (37-64) while Bacone connected on just 39.5 percent (30-76) of its efforts.
Neither team shot well from the free-throw line – St. Gregory’s at 55.2 percent (16-29) while Bacone was at 48.7 percent (19-39).
Davis was SGU’s rebounding leader with 10.
St. Gregory’s will entertain Manhattan Christian Saturday at 3 p.m.
