OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Here are the conditions at Oklahoma lakes as reported Wednesday, June 25, by the state Department of Wildlife Conservation and lake rangers.
CENTRAL
Arcadia: Channel and blue catfish slow. Crappie fair on jigs around the boat ramps in the evening and on jigs and minnows around the heated dock. Report submitted by Mark Murray, game warden stationed in Oklahoma County.
Overholser: Elevation normal, water 80 degrees and clear to murky. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on 2 inch white grubs. Channel catfish good on cut shad. Bluegill good on worms. Report submitted by Tim Campbell, game warden stationed in Oklahoma County.
Thunderbird: Elevation 1 1/2 ft. above normal and clear. Crappie fair to good on minnows at 10 to 12 ft. on structure. Saugeye good early and late day on jigs and sassy shad at 10 to 12 ft. off points. White bass good on drop offs and humps at 12 to 15 ft. on spoons and jigs, also can be found surfacing early and late day. Largemouth bass should be hitting topwaters buzz baits in shallow cove areas near aquatic vegetation or weed beds early morning. All other fishing slow.
NORTHEAST
Bell Cow: Elevation normal, water muddy. Bass good on spinnerbaits and plastics. White bass good on minnows and jigs. Channel catfish fair on cut baits and dough baits. Crappie good on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.
Birch: Elevation 9 ft. above normal. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs near submerged structure at 10 to 15 ft. Channel catfish are good on cut shad. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.
Birch: Elevation above normal, water 80 degrees and stained. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around brush piles at 5 to 10 ft. Blue and channel catfish good on cut shad and worms fishing near flooded timber at 2 to 8 ft. Largemouth bass fair in flooded vegetation on spinners and worms. Carl Blackwell: Elevation normal, water 82 degrees and murky. Catfish good on cut and live bait. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs. All other fishing slow. Report submitted by Jon Cunningham, game warden stationed in Payne County.
Chandler: Elevation normal, water murky. Bass good on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Channel catfish good on cut baits. Crappie good on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.
Copan: Elevation 16 ft. above normal and murky. Crappie fair on minnow and jigs near submerged structure at 10 to 15 ft. Channel and blue catfish fair on rod and reel, juglines with shad, stink bait and worms. Flathead and channel catfish are fair below the dam on fresh cut or live shad. Eucha: Elevation slightly above normal, water 76 degrees and murky. Bluegill good on crickets and worms around grass beds. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits. Fort Gibson: Elevation 23 ft. above normal and steady, water 86 degrees and murky. Largemouth bass good in late evening and night in the flooded grass and flooded timber. White bass good on minnows and jigs at 10 to 15 ft. around bridges, rocky points and submerged tree lines. Catfish good on cut and whole shad in flooded timber. Boaters need to use extreme caution due to high volume of debris in the lake. Report submitted by Marvin Stanley, game warden stationed in Wagoner County.
Grand: Upper end — elevation above normal, water 80 degrees and murky. Largemouth bass good on plastic worms, crankbaits and jigs in the shallows around points, willows and coves. White bass good on spinnerbaits and minnows at 5 to 10 ft. around docks and bridges, excellent at night. Catfish excellent on gold fish secret seven stinkbait, worms and shad along shorelines and on limb lines. Crappie fair in shallows. Report submitted by Sam Williams, Grand Lake Sports Center.
Grand: Elevation 6 1/2 ft. above normal, water 78 to 85 degrees. Above Sailboat bridge to Horse Creek muddy and Horse Creek to the dam dirty to stained. Bass outstanding crankbaits on points continue to produce, spinnerbaits and drop baits around the flooded bushes and trees are just lights out and shaky heads on points are producing a lot of keeper size fish. Crappie have moved deep and are hard to find. Catfish are feeding in the flooded grass and willows on shad and worms are the primary baits. Flathead catfish are in the holes and juggers are catching good numbers on shad all over the lake. White bass have moved out and are biting the jigging spoons and are starting to surface feed in parts of Horse Creek and Elk River and small crankbaits and firecracker grubs are producing the best. Greenleaf: Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass good on rubber and plastic worms on top of the water in grass beds and on spinnerbaits and crankbaits along shorelines, points and creek channels. Catfish good on cut baits and stinkbaits on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at fishing docks and brush structure. All other fishing slow. Hudson: Elevation above normal. White bass good on upper end of lake. Channel and blue catfish good on juglines and trotlines with cut shad and worms. Paddlefish fair to good in the upper end of the lake. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes Counties.
Hulah: Elevation 23 ft. above normal and murky. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs near submerged structure at 10 to 15 ft. Channel catfish good on cut shad. Blue catfish good below the dam on live or fresh cut shad. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.
Keystone: Elevation 23 ft. above normal and dropping, water muddy. Largemouth bass slow on Colorado blade spinnerbaits, jigs, chunk baits and plastics at 3 to 8 ft. in flooded cover in backs of creeks and coves. Smallmouth bass slow on jigs, chunk baits and crankbaits at 6 to 12 ft. around points and ledges. Spotted bass slow on jigs, chunk baits and crankbaits at 5 to 10 ft. around bluffs and deep coves. White bass fair on minnows and tube jigs at 4 to 8 ft. below the dam. Striped bass fair on live shad and buck tails at 4 to 8 ft. below the dam. Channel catfish good on stinkbaits and worms at 4 to 8 ft. in creeks and coves. Blue catfish good on cut shad and punch baits at 6 to 12 ft. in creeks and below the dam. Flathead catfish good on goldfish and large shiners at 6 to 12 ft. below the dam and riprap. Crappie slow on minnows and tube jigs at 6 to 15 ft. below the dam and in deep coves. Oologah: Elevation 17 ft. above normal and falling slowly. Most boat ramps on the lake are still closed. Blue catfish fair on juglines baited with shad at 15 ft. White bass are fair on jigs below the dam. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Rogers County.
Skiatook: Elevation 7 1/2 ft. above normal, water upper 70’s and muddy. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits in the lower end of the lake. Striped bass hybrids being caught on live shad at 10 to 20 ft. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 8 to 12 ft. around bridges and riprap. All other fishing is slow. Report submitted by Paul Welch, game warden stationed in Osage County.
Sooner: White bass good on topwater lures, live shad and slabs near the dam. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs along Hwy. 177 and Hwy. 15. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.
Spavinaw: Elevation 1/2 ft. above normal, water 79 degrees and murky. Bluegill good on crickets and worms. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around the dam area. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa Fisheries.
Webbers Falls: Elevation 3 ft. above normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits in riprap and creek channels. Catfish good on cut baits, stinkbaits and sunfish.
